FAN FICTION

‘Body Count’ by Vanja Miskovic

It is a hard time for Frank Castle (aka The Punisher). He’s in pain. Dark thoughts constantly torture him, both in his dreams and waking hours. He’s trying to fulfil his final mission, where he has to face the ultimate villain - himself.

With a list of criminals he needs to punish in his hand, and aided by his friend from the ‘Eurohit’ saga, Outlaw, and Gotham’s finest, the Dark Knight himself, The Punisher is on a new trail.

But Frank’s old now, he’s not as healthy as he once was and he doesn’t feel so good. Guess who’s number one on the list?

THE SETTING

‘Body Count’ takes place sometime after John Ostrander’s Punisher comic book series (published in 1995). The story centers on Frank's emotions, and has very little action. Yet, the action that does exist is very violent and gory. ‘Body Count’ can be seen as the final Punisher story, with him saying “goodbye” to us all.

THE AUTHOR

‘Body Count’ is written by Vanja Miskovic, a Punisher fan from Yugoslavia. Vanja started writing the story in 1999 when he was 17 years of age. He can be contacted by email here.
